Shelter
A FRIEND’S PLACE – BONNE TERRE, MO
A Friend’s Place is a shelter for women and their children who are victim’s of domestic and/or sexual violence. This facility was completed in 1999 and provides 32 beds. When you think of what a shelter looks like most of us think of the typical dark room with cots scattered about. That is not what you will find here. Each family that comes to the shelter is given a private bedroom. There is a community kitchen and living room with a play area for children. Safety and comfort are out biggest priorities.
The shelter provides:

- Answers nearly 100 crisis calls monthly
- Facilitates weekly support groups for women and children
